First I wanted to share a movie with you called "Drop Dead Fred"(1991). Starring Phoebe Cates and Tim Matheson. My sisters, brother, and I used to watch this one constantly. This is one of those one's that I started to wonder, "What the heck was that?" and "Why did I like it." But like I said, I was young and this movie is definitely fun! This movie is about a young confused woman, trying to find her place in the world while having to deal with issues with mother and her husband. That's when her childhood imaginary friend comes to try to help her patch things up with herself. Although, it seems he is just causing more problems for the woman. But in the end things work themselves out. This movie is hilarious. I love this movie and highly recommend it, especially for kids. There are great reviews on this movie. If you would like to read a few of them and find out how to get your hands on a copy of this laughable movie go here: http://www.squidoo.com/Rememberingwhen I must say that I had to go back and watch this movie, to try to understand more why it stuck with me. This movie is so funny. It was funny when I was a kid and it's funny now. Although, I must advise parents before renting this or purchasing. There is some profanity, so if you don't want your kids learning some bad words you might keep them from this one until they are old enough to understand. Otherwise, it's a great movie. Those of you who do get it, I hope you enjoy it.
Next I would like to remember a movie called "Little Monsters"(1989). Starring Fred Savage - TV's "The Wonder Years" and Howie Mandel - TV's "Bobby's World." When I was young I think I watched this one at least 10 times with a 2 or 3 day period. This one is about a your boy who just moved to a new neighborhood with his family and ends up making best friends with a monster who loves to have fun. The monster shows the boy the time of his life in another world that is under his bed. Although the boy soon finds out he cannot stay in this world or there will be irreparable consequences. This movie is great for kids, it's very cute. Adults even admit to liking it. This one has great reviews as well. To read some of them and to get your hands on a copy go here: http://www.squidoo.com/Rememberingwhen I also ended up renting this one as well. It's cute and made me wish I had monsters under my bed when I was young. If I had watched this one when I was scared about monster under my bed, I probably wouldn't have been afraid anymore. But once again, I need to say, this one also has some profanity in it. Not to much. But I still recommend this for maybe the older one.
This one is highly recommended, especially for young girls."The Secret Garden"(1993). Starring Kate Maberly and Heydon Prowse. This is a story of a young girl who loses her parents and ends up having to live at her uncle's castle in England. Once there she finds herself alone do to the fact that her uncle secludes himself from her because of the loss of his wife 10 years earlier. She then starts exploring and finds a overgrown secret garden that was once her deceased aunts. At some point she also finds that she has a cousin who is sick and was told to remain in bed at all time and not be exposed to any sunlight. The girl decides to try to bring the garden back to life. So with the help of a new friend the garden is brought back to life. by doing so she brings life and love back into the lives of her uncle and cousin. This movie is very emotional but very good. This one is definitely a must see and very much worth remembering. To read some great reviews on this movie and get you hands on it go here:

Here is one that always has a spot in my head, but the story is a little fuzzy (hard to remember) I watched this so long ago. But it has always stuck with me. The Witching of Ben Wagner (1987). It is based on a novel by Mary Jane Auch. Fantasy For The Kiddies! Here is the basic idea of the movie. In the spectacular beauty of the Rocky Mountain a typical 13 year old boy learns to believe in himself with the help from the mysterious Regina, a not-so-typical girl who lives by the lake with her grandmother.'The Witching of Ben Wagner' is an exciting and humorous story about making new friends, helping each other and believing in one's self. This one is very hard to find. I can't even find anything on on the IMDB site or a single picture. I will be looking though, I would very much like see this one again. Here are some of the characters in the movie: Sam Bottoms, Harriet Hall, Bettina Rae, Justin Gocke, Sylvia Sidney, Elizabeth Shelmway, and Jamie Ballard. I do highly recommend this one if you can find it. If I find it I will post it here.
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) Starring Cary Grant, Josephine Hull, Jean Adair. This one is a wonderful comedy. It is about a man who just got married to a young woman and now she must make a fast stop at home to tell her aunts. While at her aunts house the man finds out that the two aunts have a very bad habit of killing lonely old men, then burying them in their cellar. Everything seems to just get worse from there. This is not a horror movie, it is a comedy. A very good one. It is one of my favorite older comedies. The characters do a great job at playing their parts. I highly recommend this one. Go here to see what other people said about this movie and get your hands on a copy. You won't be sorry!
